CN in Fenton and Q321 with a warbonnet

Postby atrainguy60 on Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:07 pm

I headed down to Holly around 3:00pm to watch trains, and as soon as I got to Holly, I heard a train. I figured it was probably CN, so I drove to Fenton to catch it. I got there just before it was about to enter town.

After the CN, it was about an hour until Q321 came, with a BNSF warbonnet and a BNSF leading. I caught it at Lahring Road north of Holly.

It seems like over half of Q321 was LPG tank cars. Is Q321 a northbound train?

Yes, the "warbonnets" in the 700 and 4700 series' are actually known as "fauxbonnets" or "fakebonnets."
Screw the trains, I come for the fighting.

I used the term to mean "a crappy warbonnet", not for the technical term. For instance, you cannot "derail" a thread.

Then the LPG tank cars were most likely loads from the Port Huron area (or mty's going somewhere for storage). I would guess mty's because it is pretty warm out so I do not think there is a high demand for LPG :?

They are probably loads as there are LPG tanks on Q321 and Q322 every day it runs, there are days though that there are more tanks than usual.
