Hate to ruin everyone's posts, but that "864" is actually 558 as indicated in his log, as well as the fact that it had NORX cars. Those cars are actually not empty either. I've seen 558 a few times and the springs were compressed, but I couldn't see the commodity, so I was wondering if it was some type of ore or something?

Anyways, great report and great photos. Thanks for sharing the symbols.

Ok, 558 must be one of the NORX coal loads. I believe 574 is another. I looked up my logs where I could not see the commodity and it was 598, not 558. I've seen a 572 as well, but that was several years ago. Anyways, it's interesting that despite losing the Selkirk-side traffic on the Chicago Line, west of Oak Harbor NS has almost matched the volume that of before 1999.

Yea, I hadn't railfanned Vickers/Millbury in a long time, it was a very BUSY day, and I know I missed 3 NS trains... 18M was one.
