ATTENTION ALL Durand area railfans.... Just got a call from 2 friends that the diamond in Durand is being replaced today

SO TODAY THEY'LL HAVE AN EXCUSE FOR THE LACK OF TRAINS IN DUUUUUUUUUUURANN.

yea... unless there is a high priority that will get rerouted from pt huron to chicago via the mt clemens to holly subs to the chicago wye, but more likely than not they will all come tonight... could be interesting i only wish tonight was coney night at the iron horse

OK NEVER MIND MY EARLIER POST. One of the ppl that originally called me, called back a few mins ago to say that the diamond is being put in in approx. 3 weeks. They are just unloading the trucks for it today.

I have now heard that there are THREE diamonds sitting next to the tracks at Durand. All three are high speed. Two of them have ties on them, the other one has no ties just rail.
Does anyone know why they would have a third diamond at Durand without ties?

THEY ARE JUST STEENKING DIAMONDS. Someone who knows how to spell better than the above, please let us know when the diamonds are actually being replaced, and no more daily updates, of "are they in yet?" or "I think they are getting replaced!!" We have already discussed the differences between flange-bearing and regular diamonds, and it is clear that nobody here knows 100% yet what they are going to be or when they are going to be replaced. I don't think I've ever seen a thread spin it's wheels this much before
