Local observations

Unread post by patrick »

Well, as i am typeing this here I hear horns in the distance. CM/HESR went south with the 8905. This unit was running long hood forward and sounds incredible for its age. It has the old style GE bell and the awesome sounding horn. This unit is truly a gem. In the yard are several units today. On the deadline and storage tracks remain the CORP 3838 and the CMGN 5086. Keeping company with these units however is the 2002 and the 5175. Hopefully these units are just set there for a short time. In the shop building is the 1471 and just outside it was the 998 and the 5492. The 5492 has been in the yard as a shop goat all week and I fear there may be a problem with this unit. However it is unknown what this problem could be. Bay City rails have been very busy with trains coming and going from both the HESR and the Lake State Railway. The latter of which, runs their 301 switch job, which has been very busy bustling around bay city and kawkawlin. I will have more updates as things come and go.

EDIT:

Well, after going the checking out the horn I heard I discovered that the 8905 was not the 740 train, but maybe an extra they called to switch. The HESR 740 train just came in with the 2014 and 50 cars including the cab. The train consist is as follows: *Please note that this train carried no chemicals and this consist was written down as the train went past me and is in no way, shape, or form, provided by, or authorizied by the Huron and Eastern Railway Company*

740 took cars HERS 20048 though RFMX 464420 and put them in the south yard yarding tracks. This entire train consisted of mostly empty grain cars and empty box cars. the only tanks on this train came from the sugar plant and contained molasses I would assume. Hopefully my posting this will not upset any of the crew members as the engineer was our own crash.
