Manistee trackwork

Unread post by BB »

Last week there have been some tie replacement going on around Manistee. Every few hundred yards there is a bundle of new ties and CSX must have a contract for the tie replacement. There were two semi trucks that were a grayish color with flat bed trailers and one flat was depressed in the middle and at the end had a tie unloader crane. These trucks were fairly new if not new. If there still around I'll try to get pictures of it.

good to see CSX doing maintenance up there.. hopefully it isn't like what some of us have heard with MOW work around Lansing...dropping off ties, doing nothing with them, and picking them back up :) Hope business will grow more so we have more trains on the "baldwin" sub..right nathan?

Have about 4 or 5 gons in Manistee for about three weeks now. Last year there was about six that came in July and I think they loaded them up with pretty bad shape ties. Haven't seen anything done with these yet.

First picture is a NYC gon.
