Lake State derailment Gaylord

Unread post by Super Chief »

Lake States has a tipped locomotive south of Gaylord right now. Cars appear to be upright. Looks like a 4 axle in new paint. Corman or Hulcher will make somebodies night long.

Was wondering when they were gonna trudge back up there, there hasn’t been anything up to Gaylord in at least a week...

Actually it happened on the west side of old US 27 just south of Old Sate Road (aka Mansiding Road in Otsego Lake Township, Otsego County. South of Otsego Lake State Park, last night. The train was delivering a centerbeam car of plywoods to the PRC Build on Fairview Road west of Old US-27 North on Gaylord's north side.

Not new paint on that engine by any means, they just keep their power fairly clean.

When did Builders FirstSource resume rail service? The past few times I was up there, its spur was deeply rusted.

I think they meant Tri State Forest Products. They are located on the branch to A & L.

There is no rail spur off the A&L spur at Tri State Forest Products on Dickerson Road. But there is a rail spur at the Builders First Source on the west side of old US-27 North. Both in Gaylord.

RR1949, you may want to double check about the spur at Tri States. You may need your reader glasses to see the spur on the satellite image

AARR, I double checked the google map and yes, I located the rail spur at Tri State Forest Products. It is along the north side of the northernmost building. I forgot to zoomed in that location.
