In years past has CP had any issues with clearing customs? How long does that normally take?

If you check a number of the previous year threads you will see it normally is state side by 10, and can run late. It probably won’t depart at 6:30, and it won’t be state side at a reasonable hour. It also will attract lots of crowds. I’m just glad there’s no loud threat of them running dark. People start lining up around 6-7 o’clock most towns, Some even have parties/ events based around it. Being it’s a Saturday this year I expect extra crowd levels this year.

It will be neat to finally see it. Hopefully no one ruins it for the rest of us.

However, the company has said the lights may be turned off for security reasons as it travels through the state and says its won’t reveal its plans ahead of time.

Doesn't surprise me. Last year the threat of them running dark was much louder and gained much more traction. My bet is it will run with lights on until something really dumb happens on the rail..

Last year's Friday-Saturday run should have had a decent turnout - although Thanksgiving was earlier last year, so the CP train wasn't part of a long holiday weekend.

The NS line that goes through Delray, Allen Park, by Metro Airport and Milan. On to the old Conrail at Butler IN and through Elkhart on the way to Chicago.
