Could have had something to do with the railcar resting against the transmission line structure? That would be difficult to assess at night, the actual potential of it collapsing. If a live transmission line fell onto the train, then you have a shock hazard throughout the entire length of the train.

I think you are looking at one of the yard light towers.

You're correct. It is a light tower. I just looked at the scene on Google Earth.
