As of 12.28.18, Detroit Salt was using a Trackmobile to load the salt cars while the traditional switcher; ex Conrail HLCX 0007 was sitting at the end of the track, possibly down or out of service.

Shuttlewagon has been in use for awhile.
Re: Detroit Salt Switchers
Nice pictures CRD. Does Detroit Salt still use a fleet of home cars (DSSX IIRC)?

Yes, usually the NS 331 will leave Oakwood with the Salt cars. Lately the 21N has had covered hoppers in addition to the intermodal.
Re: Detroit Salt Switchers
Nice pictures. Do you have any info on the HP of the Trackmobile and how many loaded cars it can handle or move?

I am not entirely sure which Shuttlewagon model it is, but the Commander Series can pull 25 loaded cars and the Navigator Series can pull 60 loaded cars.hoborich wrote:Nice pictures. Do you have any info on the HP of the Trackmobile and how many loaded cars it can handle or move?
