Circus City Decals already makes a set for current LSRC prototypes. But the M420 and alco repaints have not been done. How many of you would be interested in purchasing a set if I got the artwork completed and printed up?

Just a straw poll for now.

I'd be interested, but I'm holding out for an HO RTR M420 first. :P

I've got two Kaslo kits that need assembly and decals. But I do have someone interested in printing them: Circus City decals.

If Circus City is willing to donate them, I'd jump on that option, if I were you. I was looking at decals for a different shortline a few years ago, which were not available in N scale (my scale of choice). I tried to set up a file for one of the other companies to print...and it didn't work out very well. If I recall correctly, Patrick C (I can't remember his username here) approached Circus City about doing the same road in HO scale shortly after and they did a very nice job on them. But...my memory isn't what it used to be, so I may have the names or timeline wrong.

The other thing that's been becoming a problem with the decals is finding someone to produce and stock the relatively limited number of sets that cover most of the local shortlines. When I was actively pursuing decals a few years ago, there were several people who were using the last of their supplies, and then were going to shut down. Microscale has something like a 300 set minimum order, for custom sets. Again, if you can get Circus City to produce them, that might be your best bet.

All of that being said, at this point the D&M/LSRC doesn't really interest me personally, so I wouldn't be interested in any sets. However, if you do purse having them produced, keep in mind there might be some interest in the decals from people who don't use the internet (we have some in that camp in my area), or who aren't on this site, but who would be interested. It might be enough to convince someone that producing such a set would be a worthwhile enough venture that it might also save you the expense of paying for the necessary artwork for the set to be produced.
