Back in the Area for a bit

Unread post by Beal99 »

Hey board!

Back in GR for a little bit, was looking on some posts but am curious if anyone has a generic train schedule for stuff heading east, either CSX or I'd love to catch the GRE out to lowell sometime. Seeing a lot of grain cars there lately.

Thanks

Nate

GRE usually runs east early in the AM. Usually they leave Fuller by 8:00am. I do not think they are running everyday.
CSXT schedule is:
Q326 inbound from Chicago late morning earely afternoon
Q327 outbound to Chicago usally after 6:30pm
Q329 inbouind from Detroit usually late AM or early afternoon
Q328 outbound to Detroit usually around 0300am.
D700 heads west from Wyoming around 6:00am.
MS comes down to Holland usually in the morning but not every day.
GDLK usually comes into GR later afternoon 4-7pm-ish. Outbound back to KZO usually later in the evening.
Coal trains are more frequently lately. Usually 1-2 loads a day and 1-2 sets of MT's leaving.
Watch the CSX update board for more details.

Hey Nate. Here's a brief run down of anything of significance.

CSX:
Q328 (GR-Detroit) typically leaves in the very early morning and is well east of GR before sunrise, but sometimes gets called later
Q329 (Detroit-GR) typically shows up in GR between 11 am and 2 pm
Q326 (Chicago-GR) typically arrives in GR around noon
Q327 (GR-Chicago) typically called around 5 pm
Y106 Monday-Friday local that works east from GR to Elmdale and back, on duty at 8 am
D700 Tuesday-Saturday local that works west from GR to Sawyer and back, on duty 5 am
Y297 Monday-Friday "West Side Job" that works the GRE interchange and industries on the old Baldwin sub, on duty 3 pm

Grand Elk:
First and second shift yard jobs in Grand Rapids (120 and 221) run every weekday. They'll head over to CSX and up to Fuller at random, along with servicing customers as far south as 76th St
303 Road train from Kalamazoo usually shows up in GR in the late afternoon

Grand Rapids Eastern:
Typically will run Monday-Wednesday-Friday, usually on duty between 7 and 9 am

Marquette Rail:
Z151 is normally nocturnal in GR. The Day Job goes north out of Sparta around 7 or 8 am.

Coopersville & Marne:
They've been running freight pretty reliably this year, once or twice a week. Check the board for updates

Is the train from Kalamazoo running daily? And does it carry Grand Rapids traffic as well as working customers along the way?
Thanks

Yes, Monday through Friday. They will work Plainwell, Wayland and Moline north and southbound depending on what they have cars for.
