Dented bridge in Stanton or Ionia on bike trail?

Anything pertaining to railfanning in Michigan.

Dented bridge in Stanton or Ionia on bike trail?

Asking for a non train guy. I was told there is a RR bridge along a bike trail in that area tjat still bears the dent from when somthing on a train smacked it. Can you please educate me?

I don't know the story at all. I can only think of the one bridge between Stanton and Greenville that anything would have likely hit. I also don't recall seeing it though I've ridden the route dozens of times. I'll pay some closer attention next time I pass by and report the results back.

Here is a link to some info about the bridge. It isn't the original and did suffer some damage but sounds like it was in it's previous life as a highway viaduct. Maybe one of the others who rode the trail with the group from the website a few years ago has something to add. The bridge is now over fish creek, southwest of Stanton.
