M&NE Old Buckley Hotel

Unread post by James Sofonia »

The hotel was built in the early 1900’s by the Manistee North Eastern railroad. Its original purpose was to provide lodging, and to serve the adult needs of the local lumbermen. (It’s had a colorful past.) But for the past 40 years it basically just existed, without much of a purpose. That is until it caught Josh's eye. When he's all done with bringing it back to life, Josh plans to fill this space with wood working tools. "It will be a community woodworking shop." Customers will be able to come in with a wood working project and use the tools Josh will have in here to make their project a reality.

I've been past this building a thousand times and never knew what it was. I've read everything I could get my hands on about the M&NE and never saw anything about them building a hotel!
