My NS source said they ran thru a derail, guess it did its job.

Not only did they run through a derail, they did so at a significant enough speed to flip the locomotive and derail several cars before it was all over. Someone wasn't doing their required lookin'.

....must have overrun their intended route in this pass, as the switch was not lined for the move....you can see the points by the engine, and theys agin them!
