We have heard of and sometimes seen a weekly or so intermodal from Prince Rupert to Moterm Yard on the Holly but not sure if it has been every week lately. There are rumors of more container trains from UP for over a year now that have not materialized. There is often an all-sand train, loads one way, empties the other way, on the Holly or sometimes on one of the regular freights has a big slug of short covered hoppers in the consist. That is about all I know of here on the Holly that is new or newer.

Moterm doesn't have the capacity to handle those UP trains yet.

The sand cars going to Toledo isn't a new thing either, but the unit trains are becoming more common. I saw two sand trains on the Holly last week.

They have been moving sand in smaller blocks on 391 and 502.

What train is Q140? The weekly intermodal or another extra?

Thanks for the information, I'm thinking of the trains going through Lansing. I saw the biggest intermodal train heading west this past Sunday I think I've ever seen on this line. Other railfans have told me the CN seems to running smaller but more frequent trains-maybe to cut down on dwell time? The GT back in the late 1990s did run smaller but more frequent trains and then CN started running longer and longer trains.

I believe Q140 is the weekly train from Prince Rupert to Motern but its just a guess at this point.
