Even though they are on the outskirts of town, Carter Lumber and B&D Drywall are considered by the railroad to be Mt. Clemens customers. Although currently not receiving cars, Phoenix Stone is still very much an active customer and paid big bucks last year to keep the switch in place when CTC was put in (needed the electric lock switch). Metro Aluminum occupies the old Ford vinyl plant and is currently being switched 3/4 times a week. Many thought that the Metro warehouse in Mt. Clemens was kaput, however, it was dormant for a spell and is now active once again, and in fact, was just switched today. This space is currently shared by a few others and Chrysler (FCA) will take over the entire place in the not too distant future, and their rail business will be quite substantial for CN. So, Mount Clemens proper has four rail customers at present.
