Thanks TSS, I was wondering what was going on. #4611 sounds like a problem child...

It was a nice touch that they at least put "Tulip Train" on the LED message board .
Although it was hard to photograph for some reason...

LEDs refresh at a certain rate, similar to a TV/Computer/Smartphone screen, at a rate that isn't noticeable to our eyes. You have to adjust your camera settings (namely shutter speed) to match the LED refresh rate.

Bingo. Same reason why LED railroad crossing flashers don't appear to be working in HD videos.

That shot above was taken at the St. Joseph, MI Amtrak Station, looking south. That train above was the Amtrak Tulip Special. The bridge in the distance is the Park Street overpass over the CSX Grand Rapids Sub. That green shed or pole barn at the far end of the platform is for the storage of the wheel chair lift when not in use.
