Is there a schedule that determines which locomotives run on a given day at Greenfield Village?
I would really like to see Detroit & Lima Northern Railroad No. 7 in action!

Re: Greenfield Village Steam Locomotive Schedule
Normal run on events that need two trains, its the most expense engine to run - so it -it runs less. If the newer passenger car need less power to pull so the smaller engines can handle more people. Diesel can handle unknown problem which do happens.
Re: Greenfield Village Steam Locomotive Schedule
The three engines are usually rotated after operating about 3 weeks each.
There are tons of exceptions to this, such as special occasions (Memorial Day, Old Baseball Games, Old Car Festival, etc.) where two engines will be placed into service. The summer it was completed, #7 ran for a week, then broke down for two, and then ran for over a month - the Village wanted to show it off.
Unfortunately they don't list the schedules online, so the only real way to find out is by having a friend visit and report the situation. Or perhaps call - I have never tried this.
