Amtrak 365 hits vehicle

Unread post by CN_Okemos »

Amtrak 365 hit a vehicle this morning, driver escaped injury. I went searching for a story after seeing their status was service disruption.
Lots of debris.

LOTS of debris widely scattered. How fast is the train usually going on this stretch of track?

I think the upgrades in that area have been completed...it's possible they were decelerating from 110, but I'm not 100% sure.

Still 79 MPH east of Kalamazoo. 365 being west bound might have still been roiling at a good clip if they were staying on track 2. Amtrak seems to be favoring track 2.
