MOW equipment on JAIL in Mason

Unread post by GTWRalph »

On my way home tonight I drove by the JAIL building in Mason as I always do. I spotted 1 piece of MOW equipment on the tracks. This is the first time I have seen MOW equipment in Mason.
Sorry for the bad cell phone image.

Judging by the looks of the tracks in your photo they need it. The A&B has been spending a bit of money on this line as of late and I dare say it is looking pretty good. It sure would be nice to see the freight rolling along at 25 vs the 10 they do now. It would cut their crew costs considerably.
What smells like lube oil and diesel.... Oh wait it's just my "Locomotive Breath"

I could see tracks reaching Class II status someday if more business could be found, but most likely speeds will be limited to 20mph so it could still operate at restricted speed and not require a dispatcher, track warrants and all that other stuff.
