Thursday and Saturday, when leaving work in AA I drove along Main St towards M-14. The siding (old interchange with AA) has a short train parked on it. This train has locomotive 518, which was the same locomotive parked there with the ballast hoppers in June. My best guess is this is a track geometry train. It looks like the second car is a passenger car, with the third car being a different looking car.
Has Amtrak decided to house a work crew based out of Ann Arbor now they control the line.

My information source says that Amtrak is testing the PTC installations at night. They are using a "near as real" train set to do the testing.
