Sparta Display Equipment

Unread post by NS3322 »

What is the status of the equipment on display at the depot in Sparta?
The AA caboose has been moved to Spring Lake, but the other rail cars look like they have not been taken care of in a long time.

The equipment and depot at the end of Union Street in Sparta are still owned by the West Michigan Railroad Historical Society. The property they sit on is owned by the village.

The Annie caboose that was previously up there was owned by a member who decided to sell it.

In recent years, the Society has held a couple of its monthly meetings there each year, and has opened the depot to the public during Town and Country days.
