Csx Plymouth sub traffic.increase?

Unread post by MMRR-24 »

Living in Fowlerville with the plymouth sub pretty much in my backyard I've noticed more trains seem to be going through at night. Is there a reason for this? And the local that used to come by every other day to switch out rhetech and asei kasi used to come around 5-6 pm everyday but now seems to come way after 9 pm. Seems nothing comes through during the day anymore. Just wondering.

D705 and D706 were recently created, running in addition to D708 the local. 706 and 705 alternate days so it's either one or the other. Can't answer about the night time thing though since 705 and 706 have been running mostly during the day for over a week now, with 705 sometimes appearing late evening like tonight.

Depends on the day. I know today 708 got to Fowlerville around 4 pm. D705 got recrewed in Plymouth this evening and should be coming by soon. D706 will probably pass through around noon tomorrow with D708 a while after.

Look for a traffic increase soon on both the Plymouth and Grand Rapids side.

No. Not CP that I know of. EHH says no line sales are in the offing according to yesterdays conference call. No M&A either. (merger and acuisitions).

I didn't say anything about a merger (could be down the road but who knows) but CP might find CSX a "friendlier" partner than NS for the trackage rights trains that currently run the Wabash.

Besides, it's not like there's magically going to be suddenly more CSX traffic out of Michigan, even if you shift some away from going via Toledo.

Do you mean 326/327 to/from Flint as well as 6 days a week, or a new pair of trains running to Flint? If their's any truth to the rumor, I wonder if they would replace 321/322.

Supposedly the last day for Q321/Q322 is April 28th.

Wow! It'll be interesting to see what the new operations are like, whatever they are.

Flint traffic through GR? yummy!

After all, Harrison loves flat switching, and Wyoming yard is a very large flat switching yard which can be used to avoid Toledo...which it sounds like he REALLY wants to do to kill off Stanley.

Why does everyone think that CP wants to go to CSX? The Wabash route is so much more direct.

Because they've tried rerouting some things and have tried to buy it before. If they can control their own destiny, then it sounds like they would.

Both routes have their pros and cons... But lets not get this thread locked like this one:  viewtopic.php?f=3&t=34576

Exactly, this is a great thread, lets try to keep it alive. Not that anybody's done anything wrong yet, they haven't, it just usually goes down a bad route when CP is mentioned, lol.
