Kalamazoo Updates: 02/24/17

Kalamazoo Updates for today, since KPS is closed

-303 is a straight shot up to Wayland today, about 30 some cars. 4225 leading.

-Amtrak 350 was an hour and a half late today, still has the Viewliner baggage

-Amtrak maintainers are changing ties at CP 140 prior to B34's arrival. EDIT: Sounds like the maintainers just released the track.

-Grand Elk 105 is switching CN Kilgore as of 12:56.

-CN maintainers are doing work on the Kalamazoo Branch south of O Ave. According to the foreman, they're replacing rail closer to N Ave. next week, possibly interfering with 105's work. Foreman also said something about not being able to get ahold of GDLK due to the cell phone box being full.

#350 has a baggage car?? I haven't been keeping up lately, but I can't recall a baggage car on any of the michigan trains since the early 1980's. What gives?

CN requires a 32-axle minimum to operate on their lines. It's for crossing protection stuff, to ensure that the crossing actives.
