MQT MofW at Turner

Unread post by Saturnalia »

Saw MQT crews working on the mainline just north of Turner Street on my way home this afternoon. Couldn't tell what they were doing, but it looked like it entailed at least ties. It is right near the south end of that Van's Siding, I wonder if maybe they're installing a south-facing switch so it is easier to switch? As far as I can tell they're only switching it SB these days, though I have no definitive record of this.

For sure, G&W likes its class. The trucks and loader all had nice MQT logos on them...not just generic G&W ones. Pretty spiffy for a 126-mile shortline.

Plus, maybe it is just me, but it looks like the old GR&I Right of Way has been cleared out to Turner Street. Nothing on the north side, just the south side. If it is different, it looks like GDLK is wasting no time with their North Yard transformation.
