A LSRC chase north

Unread post by patrick »

I heard the LSRC departing the Wenona Yard north this afternoon and decided to chase it with my mom. We followed it up through Kawkawlin and watched it at Beaver Road. Then I caught it twice more before Linwood, where I left it to get gas. I then caught it a few more times, with the last time I was able to pace right along side it up to the Pinconning split. I aint never seen a LSRC train run 35, but this one was. Consist was as follows
281
3571
16 cars for Gaylord
975
3500
22 cars for Alpena

I have to say, and hopefully someone from the LSRC will read this, The frame stripes on the 975 and 3571 are crap. They have faded already and need to be redone. They are a chalky whiteish yellow and look like hell. on the 281 the macinac mac sign is totally back on the cab. all the black paint that was on it is gone. At lest its that way on the enginerrs side.
