Nice pictures, CAT. Did you pile the snow at the crossings or was that done by the county trucks

How fast can trains hit those piles. I can imagine they might damage a car at a crossing if they go to fast.

I've seen a video or two where the videoer was standing too close to the tracks and were hit hard by the spray

I imagine that if you stop your car behind the stop line like you are supposed to, your risk of damage in minimal. Even that Fennville shot was after the biggest snowfall in the area for quite some time.

It takes the right circumstances (lots of snow, not many trains) to get big driftbusting to happen in the first place.

Also takes a county that is willing to plow the road. Won't have that problem in Indiana.

I think it depends how fast the plow is moving. If its a major road way I've noticed the snow banks are not as high because the speed of the plow can throw it farther. I hit a big bank a couple weeks ago on a dirt road going long hood forward at 25 and went everywhere.

Here are a couple more. Train was going about 55-60 along Chicago Drive in Jenison/Hudsonville. In the second vid you see a pick up truck get somewhat wasted by the blasting snow. And of course, in both vids my car gets wasted as I'm pacing the train. This is the same morning as the video above.

This one I had the driver's window open as I'm pacing and snow flew inside my car. Listen how long the engineer is laying on the horn...

Kids, don't try this at home. All videos recorded by a professional driver. :D

You either need to make you're Photobucket public or put that stuff on YouTube. Incredible!

You can tell the engineer isn't sure where the crossings are with all the flying snow!

Is the view in the cab that bad when pushing snow off the tracks at that speed that the engineer not know where the crossings are? Lol :D

You keep blowing the horn to keep it from getting plugged with snow.
