Apparently a "new" ex-UP MP15AC arrived in Hartford today. Ex UP1397. Did the other loco have an issue, or do they want two units for potential traffic increases??

The MP15 is owned by Great Lakes Locomotive, which is part of the Hamilton Hartford Group that owns the line.Firemedic Mike wrote:Apparently a "new" ex-UP MP15AC arrived in Hartford today. Ex UP1397. Did the other loco have an issue, or do they want two units for potential traffic increases??

Is Hamilton Hartford storing it, replacing their other unit, or just wanting a second unit in Hartford? Any word on new customers?

Since GLLX is a partner, I would assume most if not all of the GLLX engines not currently leased out will be stored there.

A few months late, but I was invited to shoot the first revenue run of the "new" West Michigan back in November. Descriptions for each picture are available by clicking on them.

SD80 - Thanks for posting those pictures. What would they be shipping in a regular box car?

Re: West Michigan RR Abandonment Petition Coming
I believe there are either canned goods out of that Hartford warehouse or frozen foods hence reefers

They get a LOT of tomato paste in containers. Same as the warehouse in Holland on the branch towards the state park. Comes out of California.

Hey Doc, this trackboss, I remember seeing reefers at the interchange but maybe that was for the apple juice for the trucking company over Paw Paw way. Somewhere I have pictures of the chopped nose RS-3 that went to the MSO in grey primer when Pioneer first bought the line, there was also a high nose RS-2 that was the regular locomotive.

Re: West Michigan RR Abandonment Petition Coming
Can anyone help me with the correct EJ&E paint codes or formulas? I know there is an "old" orange and a "new" orange. This caboose seems to be the older color orange and I want to match that.

So what's up with them clearing brush on some portions of the ROW? New trail or expanding service?

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
