I was heading west on Lake Michigan Dr. yesterday and saw three "windmill trucks" heading east near Aman Park (just east of 24th St.). Had I not been heading to a job, I would have turned around to see where they were going. Pretty odd place to spot them considering their northward options at that point would have been 8th or Wilson.

We've been seeing windmill trucks coming through Woodbury all spring. Most are heading north on M-66.

In other news survey crews have been out and driveway/wetland permits are being pulled for the windmill project north of Lake Odessa. Still not sure if that project is really going anywhere but I was surprised people have actually had crews out on their property. Seems to make me think they are serious about the project at least.

I saw one of the blades EB on I-96 east of Fruit Ridge about 11:30. If I wasn't on the way to a job site I would have done a 180 and followed them for a ways myself  I'm guessing M-45 to Wilson to Remebrance to I-96 (all M routes / permit) . Need big intersections to make a turn 8)

I believe RDD is correct on the routing. One of my neighbors reported seeing one at the intersection of M-45 and Wilson. It was East on M-45 and turned north on Wilson. Stopped traffic all ways to make the turn.

Tiara Yachts of Holland is making some windmill blades.
Also last week I saw two empty blade trucks south on I196 near South Haven. So some might be trucked in from out of state.

Wilson is Kent County, no? Isn't the Ottawa County line just about a half mile west of Wilson?

Wilson (M-11) , Lake Michigan Drive (M-45)and Remembrance (M-11) are State Highways in Kent County. The oversize permits are issued by MDOT. "Kent County roads" are under the jurisdiction of the Kent County Road Commission  We have not issued any oversize permits for windmill parts on our roads

Just down the road from where I intercepted the blades on semi's (m46 and m37) I took this across the field shot of the Windmill train.

UP 7325 leading a SSJGFW with UP DPU facing R. Would this be another one Bob? Saw a video of it in Missouri on the same route the others are using. All tubes.

SSJGFW is going to CN at Griffith, IN. Destination is Island Pond, VT - about 20 miles south of Canada, eh?

Wow, they probably made a mess of Alpine between 3 Mile and Lamoreaux.

Not really actually. From what I had seen traffic was moving fine through there all day.
