C&O caboose

C&O caboose

In having to detour Friday afternoon due to a wreck on I96, I ended up in Eagle. Just south of 96, there is a C&O Caboose on display at a park/fair area. What's the story/history of the caboose and its placement there?

The Eagle, MI, caboose is steel, wide vision cupola, C&O 903315.

I have no idea why it landed park.

Just a note... I thought the caboose used to be closer to I-96 and visible from there, but appears at some point, they moved it further south on their property as seen here:

It looks like its been repainted recently and is quite visable from I-96.
