SCHOOLCRAFT (AP) - Crews are cleaning up lubricant oil from a 24-car freight train derailment near Schoolcraft near the border of Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties.

No injuries have been reported.

The derailed cars were from the middle of a CN freight train. Most of the cars were empty at the time. The spilling of the nonflammable oil was from one tanker car.

Police say the train was heading southwest toward South Bend, Indiana last night when it derailed near 2nd Street and Z Avenue in Prarie Ronde Township.

Clean-up efforts at the St. Joseph and Kalamazoo county line are expected to take several days.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
