My bad. I meant together. All I've seen are shots of one or two in a consist, but not all 3 together in the same consist. Has anyone posted a shot like that yet?MQT3001 wrote:See the wiki page. All three have links:

BTW, nice shot of the 3390 at Lamoreaux, JT. My video from the same spot turned out nice, too.

Re: Michigan Pre-G&W Paint Lists
AFAIK, they have not all been photographed together yet. The '89 and '91 ran as a pair last week, but the '91 was taken off Z151 Friday night and replaced with the '90. So there are shots of the 89 + 91 and 89 + 90, but no 90 + 91 or the trio, yet.MKT_fan11 wrote:My bad. I meant together. My educated guess is the '90 was sent to Manistee for refuel/resupply, but it could just be a matter of excess power. All three units were likely together at some point during the exchange, however.

My "pool" shot is pretty much identical to Jon's so I'll post this one instead.

Fresh out of school, got them at Bridge street. Guy driving this car gets a point for attempting to stay out of the way, but failed! I waved him on while he was looking at me, but just stopped here...

Intersesting ballast hopper, MQT, a little different than other types I've seen. Anyone know its heritage?

Re: Michigan Pre-G&W Paint Lists
On another cool car related note, the PMRX sand cars that go to MQT are old Wisconsin Central cars. A lot of the cars the billboard lettering is starting to bleed through the cheap patch job.

Nice! Kind of looks like some shots of the TZPR posted elsewhere on the internet...from the angle to the color of the power. But it's still a nice shot.J T wrote:My "pool" shot is pretty much identical to Jon's so I'll post this one instead.

Re: Michigan Pre-G&W Paint Lists
I didn't realize that MQT has at least one of those "snoot" nose SD40-2's. EMD built them for UP and put some electronics or something like that in the extended nose. You can tell because the "porch" in front of the nose is not as wide as regular SD40-2's.J T wrote:My "pool" shot is pretty much identical to Jon's so I'll post this one instead.

Re: Michigan Pre-G&W Paint Lists
3391 (ex GLLX 3003) is a former CP Snoot-nosed SD40-2. CP had several (100+?) Snoot nosed SD40-2s. The snoot noses contained the electronics necessary for radio controlled helper/slave locomotives, a precursor to modern DPUs, IIRC.AARR wrote:I didn't realize that MQT has at least one of those "snoot" nose SD40-2's. Kind of.
Couldn't find the exact shot I was referencing, but here's a couple that are very similar to the one I was thinking of.

They're obviously not exactly the same, but a couple of the elements are pretty similar.

Thanks for sharing the TZPR pics, MKT. Neat area and very interesting power mix! How often ya gonna see a lashup of a GP10, SD20 & SW14 pulling a train thru a downtown?
