Last time I was in Bay City 8905 was still on the property but retired and stored. 8903 and the 3 B units were sold and went south almost 2 years ago (Mexico I think). 5086, 5175 and 5492 are also stored/retired in Bay City with their stacks capped. I wouldn't really even put the GEs on this list since they are retired and will likely be sold or scrapped.

Also fixed some inaccuracies with that page of the wiki. 5492 is actually a B30-7.
I have removed those GEs from the list. Wasn't sure about their state or retirement.

With those 3 removed, our starting total is 31 units.
Well now hold the phone, it's been reported that 5086 was on the Durand train yesterday and today and was running. Must've needed some extra power, as far as I know 5086 is the only Dash 7 still serviceable at this time, 5175 and 5492 still being stored.

That "Red-something" scheme looked a lot like it was some sort of honorary Saginaw Valley State University scheme. The 998 is still in Bay City (but the cab says AEX), but the 999 had a pair of SVSU emblems toward the front of the unit. For what it's worth, the 998 and the 999 had different handrail configurations.

I've included a couple of photo links showing the difference:
998
999

For what it's worth, I know the Wiki page is supposed to be accurate, but it IS a wiki and (almost) anyone can change the information regardless of accuracy. Most of the east side information could be found using the forum search features.

Shouldn't this thread be under Railfanning Information since we are talking about rosters like the CSX paint list?

It's a case or either or, but because this is JUST Michigan, I felt it best to be put here. It fits the desrciptors of both.

So should I have 999 and/or 998 listed?

Well, the 999 is gone, and the 998 is labeled for Andersons (AEX 999993) and not included in the active HESR roster.

Alrighty. 999 is off, 5086 is back on. Total does not change, of course.

As a general note, how many of the HESR GE's are still on property, and not scrapped/sold?

8905, 5175, 5086 and 5492 are still on the property. Only 5086 has seen any recent use AFAIK.

If it's a decent loco G&W will keep that dash seven and send it to a line with GE locos. G&W is finding out the RA loco fleet is in worse shape than they thought. Sort of changed the big plans they had.

Could those other 3 be returned to service or have they already been sold?

Alrighty. MMRR 2019 is the first G&W-painted engine for Michigan. Assigned to the Michigan Shore. Lists at the beginning of the thread have been updated. :D

5086 has run a few times since it was stored. 5492 could be reactivated, but I think 5175 and 8905 have issues.

Well, if you missed it elsewhere, the GLLX 3001 has been renumbered and repainted to MQT 3389. Lists have been updated in the first post of this thread...

Is that what the Blue Card says? MQT 3389 or is it GLLX 3389 now? Something else? Just find it surprising that if it GLLX 3001 before it got painted, that G&W changed it to MQT 3389 is all...
