I would have kept that part of the clip going longer, but I happened to pick a spot to stand right near a joint in the tracks, which also happened to have a little dip. The whole ground was shaking as the train was passing by the joint. Lesson learned to pay closer attention to where the joints in the rails are when recording video. :)

Well a second? one, for BNSF, came down a few days ago...and I found this on YouTube from the first one. It is a video from HARSCO, and was shot on the Mighty Marquette during testing:

Love the decorations on those locos. The line through Grant and Newaygo is a great picturesque background for trains. Love the bridge over the Muskegon river.

My local NPR station in Connecticut (which also covers some of Long Island) aired this story a day or two ago:

That new Harsco Spreader LIRR purchased last year? They call it Darth Vader.....

Best part of the video is easily when it mows down a wooden birdhouse at the end of the film. They couldn't work around it? jeez :lol:

We don't need bird houses on the MQT ROW for crying out loud north of Newyago the whole railroad is in a state forest.

Some kid in grade school put his heart and soul into that birdhouse and you guys run it right over like a balsam tree. Is there no humanity? :lol:
