Darwin Awards just wouldn't be the same without people like that.

The one that sticks in my mind is the woman who raced the train in Hammond, IN. Darned shame she took her two kids with her.

Anybody who's ever been in Durand knows the words of 'the preacher'. "Locomotive wins all ties".

My respects and sympathies to the crews that get involved through no fault of their own.

The car apparently had stalled on the tracks. Someone at the scene of the accident was able to get the person out of the car just before the first train hit it. The second train had to be evacuated due to the car being on fire underneath the engine.

My friend was the BNSF engineer on the outbound METRA. He told me that this was the second drunk driver in Hinsdale that got stuck on the tracks and he hit in the last 3weeks. But that video sums it up for the drunk "WOW THAT WAS COOL I HOPE NOBODY DIED. OH WAIT! THAT LOOKS LIKE MY CAR!!!!"
