Going to be in the Chicago area next Saturday thru Monday.

What Route does the Hoosier State take into Chicago?

What are the best times and places to photograph it?

Thanks

Monon to Munster, former GTW to Thornton Jct, then former MoPsc/C&WI to CUS.

Scheduled train so follow AMTRAK timetable and their phone number/train tracker.

Correct except that depending on NS dispatcher preference. They can run the NS Chicago line between CP 518 and CUS. It is actually the more common routing.

The weather was not so good this weekend, so we did not attempt to catch the Hoosier State.
We did get a break Monday morning. So we decided to get some shots of Metra and Amtrak trains from the Roosevelt Road bridge. Low and Behold; tacked on to the rear of an Amtrak train was the Hoosier state with 2 locos and 4 cars including the full length dome. I can post the photos if someone can show me how.
Thanks
