Amtrak has put out some new videos on the P1 thru P4 videos in support of them.
Brace yourself, the changes are massive and earth shattering. The area will never be the same if these are funded. (note that P1 is complete, but it's covered as well)

Thank you for posting this. It was very informative for someone not familiar with the rr layout in Chicago.

Seeing how they plan to pull off 75th Street is the most interesting.
Grand Crossing is a minor fix compared to the many other Chicagoland junctions that are actually congested. GC at least has the major benefit of being an elevated crossing unlike most interlockings and crossings.

Because they don't know what they are talking about? 71st street is rarely blocked, and with the exception of having a train yarding into 59th st yard, trains accross it are almost always moving. Having dispatchers in the same room, which the "blue ribbon committee" seems to think will be some magic pill, will not fix anything. Dispatchers will still do what is best for their desk, and their railroad, regardless of the amount of people in the office.

P2 and P3 are now FULLY funded. 75th street and 81st street bye bye!!!!!!!
