BNSF Willow Springs Operations

Unread post by AARR »

For anyone interested in railroad operations check out Decembers Trains Magazine, "24 hours at Willow Springs", pages 46-55.

Excellent insights about the challenges BNSF goes through to keep the intermodal trains that pick-up, set-out here on time.

So much more to it than what this railfan would have thought :o
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Its quite an operation. I have traveled thru this area twice on my way to and from Rochelle as well as the Racetrack, always a different surprise.

The UPS operations are incredible. Though not really train related, I saw a good show about UPS Worldport, their airport operation hub in Louisville KY, IIRC it was a Nat Geo program and I saw it on either Netflix or Youtube. The size and efficiency of UPS is amazing!
