Trains running again on BNSF Metra line after crane collapse

I believe I heard on the radio that it happened near Cass Ave. A crane used to install a signal bridge collapsed and all three mains were blocked for hours. Trains are running again, according to the WGN radio's facebook page.

I can't wait to read the report on this incident.

I wonder if the use of a long light boom fully extended to lift a bulky metal object might have contributed to the accident? Geez, we can't tie up the line by using a rail mounted crane now can we...

I guess the CB&Q signal bridge at Westmont didn't want to go out quietly, LOL!

Well hey, at least the signals will probably still be up for the Nebraska Zephyr trips courtesy of this incident!
