Toledo West abolished
Chicago East will become the Elkhart Desk and cover CP 479 to CP 320
Toledo Yard will become Toledo Terminal and will control CP 320 to CP281 as well as CP 289 to CP 281 to YD on the DR line

Are the train dispatchers still in Dearborn, or have they moved to Atlanta?

Sounds like there's a dispatcher trainee at Chicago West with the two on conferece call between Dearborn and Atlanta

A post on another site states "Dearborn is supposed to move on or after 10/29."

They're still in Dearborn, but there are now shadow desks in Atlanta where that dispatcher does the same thing, similar to RA and RB on CSX

Chicago West now Chicago Terminal. Unclear of names on NKP side, was Chicago and Calumet Drawbridge

I like that name. Much better than "Chicago West".

"Chicago Terminal Dispatcher answering, over"

It didn't make sense that Chicago West was still east of Chicago

Without the "east" a "west" makes less sense. I am glad that it ends a CP 482 and "terminal" doesn't cover the old Chicago East. Perhaps they should have called it Elkhart Terminal instead of Elkhart Desk.

The territory now ends at CP 479

So Chicago Terminal controls up to an including CP479?

So that would mean the Elkhart Desk controls up to but excluding CP479 until ???

would be logical for the same dispatcher to control 479 and 482. This based on who the track inspectors are calling

Logic or reality? Hearing who is called for track permissions is a better indication. When the track work was being done in Elkhart over the past couple of years it was precise to the point where "Chicago East" controlled CP 421 and the track west of the interlocking and "Toledo West" controlled every inch of rail up to the CP (but not one inch of the CP). If "Chicago Terminal" is giving permission for trains to enter CP 479 it would be a change from the old division at the eastern limits of CP 482. (It would also be good for the radio to change for those three miles.)

FYI: The radio channels stayed the same in Elkhart ... with the defect detector continuing to transmit on both channels at the same time.

Where's Roberta when we need her? Haven't heard her lately probably left them when her territory got 100 miles longer and were gonna have a meltdown at Elkhart with trains all over.
