Based on an analysis of tonnages, train type & make-up, and stopping distances, certain freight trains starting on October 3rd will be designated and authorized by the Regional Vice President for test operation at intermodal train speeds in accordance with the Dearborn Division Timetable on the Chicago Line between CP 482 to CP 242 and between CP 240 to CP Drawbridge. Dearborn Division Timetable freight train speeds remain in effect between CP 242 and CP 240.

Additionally, for the purpose of these test operations, NS-1 rule L-238(f) Horsepower Per Ton (HPT) is suspended for these specific designated freight trains.
Supervision will conduct a job safety briefing with the crews of the designated test trains to include the speeds, locations, and method for the operation of the test trains. A supervisor will also accompany the crew on the test trains.
