Making a trip to IN to see family, wanted to photo the Indiana Eastern's power but need to know whether the engs are based out of Fernald, Ohio or Cottage Grove, IN. Any info on their operation would also be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Location of Indiana Eastern's locos
Last fall, I hyrailed the Indiana Eastern. At Cottage Grove, just north of the diamond, there is an Enginehouse for them. I saw a unit in the house, and one outside on the lead to it. I would venture to guess that is where they are normally kept. I didn't notice anyplace else on the line that looked like an obvious place to park their power. The units were both Algers, Winslow and Western SD9's, with minimal or no restenciling.
I know my information is not exactly current, just fyi. Good Luck!

This thread spurred my curiosity so I youtubed IE. Here's a video of street running to the power plant.
