I'm reading reports on Facebook of 34E derailing at CP 437, but no further info on how bad the derailment was.
I'll add info later as it becomes available.
Feel free to add any info as well.

48 going via Garrett, should be to Deshler in the next couple hours.Ypsi wrote:Possibility that any Amtrak trains take the senic route through Michigan?
49/29 are combined, and just went through Deshler at 0850 ET, per live video by the folks at Deshler Crossroads Park. Private varnish on the rear, lotta rare mileage today!

ATCS shows three switches out of correspondence at CP437.
Two are right where the GTW crosses, the third strangely is the switch from the GTW to the Kanakee Belt. Only thing I can think of why this switch is affected would be a cut wire to the switch.

At approximately 11:30pm last night, Tuesday June 7th, manifest train 34E-07 derailed 2 engines and multiple cars near South Bend, IN. Both main lines through the area are blocked and trains that operate between Chicago and the Northeast are being detoured around the impacted area. Repair crews are onsite working to clear the line and anticipate returning the route to service late tonight. Customers should expect transit and availability delays of 6-12 hours for all traffic moving between Chicago and the Northeast.
The following trains are being staged enroute and will be severely delayed:
25V-06 (Erail/EMT to Landers)
25Z-06 (Erail to 47th St)
21N-07 (Livernois to Chicago)
21Q-07 (Harrisburg to 47th St)
21V-07 (Harrisburg/Cleveland to 47th St)
294-07 (47th St to Bethlehem)
As a reminder, Norfolk Southern Intermodal provides 24/7 automated information services for shipment tracing, billing verification, and storage charges (including the Last Free Day) through our Touch-Trace voice response system at 1-800-497-2919. We will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

Repairs at the South Bend, IN derailment site were completed earlier this evening and all Intermodal trains operating between Chicago and the Northeast have returned to their normal scheduled routes. However, delays are expected due to slow orders, track inspections, and residual congestion.
Due to the number of trains impacted by the derailment customers should expect congestion and delayed unit departures over the next 24-48 hours at our Chicago and Northeast facilities.
The following trains will incur transit and availability delays of 18-24 hours:
23K-06 (Ayer to Chicago)
25V-06 (Erail/EMT to Landers)
25Z-06 (Erail to 47th St)
20R-07 (Landers to EMT/Erail)
21N-07 (Livernois to Chicago)
21Q-07 (Harrisburg to 47th St)
21V-07 (Harrisburg/Cleveland to 47th St)
294-07 (47th St to Bethlehem)
