Sad.

But if the title is correct, this was two years ago...?

The thread title is wrong. The incident occurred 10/12/2015.

BTW: The headline in the Elkhart Truth was "pedestrian killed after being hit by train". Killed after seemed the wrong way to write it.

I was trying to give Jochs a chance to correct it...it's still sad though. :(

I see what you mean, but wouldn't "pedestrian killed before being hit by train" imply some kind of foul play?

How about, "Pedestrian dead AFTER being hit by train." Immediatly after as the case may be...

"dies after" would work ... or "killed by". Oddly enough my non-railfan wife thought my problem with the headline was the assumption that the train went out of its way, swerving to strike the pedestrian. I just thought it sounded like NS Police were stepping up their anti-trespassing campaign and killing trespassers instead of ticketing them.

BTW: That paper also had a headline about a "fake scam" that smoked my logic circuit. If the scam is a fake then is it a scam?
