Help. I'm sitting here in Albion, In along the CSX line. Its been 15 minutes and no train so far. How often do they run thru town and what time of day is best?

Sounds like you're already in position to pay attention and report the same things back to the forum.

So far since 4:30, one train at about 5:15 pm. Hotshot intermodal EB. Oh yeah and a few ROW maintenance vehicles.

The Garret sub probably sees around 60 trains a day, give or take 5 depending on the day of the week. The busiest time of the day are early mornings between 6-10am and in the evening into the night from around 7 or 8pm, into the night. Those periods may bring 4-6 trains an hour. On the other hand, miday traffic can be very slow especially in the ealry afternoon. You may go 3 hours and only see a few trains.

The second part of your statement probably explains the lack of trains in the first part.
