Osceola was the place to be today

Unread post by Super Chief »

Was well rewarded to day awaiting the RBBB Circus Train. Lots of trains to watch on the west end before it arrived. Both Amtraks were only 15 minutes apart westbound. Lake Shore was first and the Capitol Limited next with 5 private cars on the rear. Then 31N which was in front of the RBBB train had a Belt Railway of Chicago 534 operation Life Saver switcher as the third unit. RBBB was held at CP 435 for a good hour awaiting all the west bound traffic the yard was kicking out. They didn't service the train ran right through on the coach track and awaited at the depot for the GDLK stone train to come thru on its wayto the yard. 4076 and the new unit 4206 both running backwards elephant style (no pun intended) with about 80 stone cars. The ELK needs to get that turntable working in GR or find a wye somewhere to get units facing short hood forward. Thanks to GTW & Conrail 7965 for the heads up on all the movements today. By the way CP 426 signals were out all day so every eastbound had to stop west of there and proceed as instructed.

Caught the Circus Train at Three Rivers along with JT from Grand Rapids. Good you had a good time at Osceola on the west end of the yard.
