Hoosier State service contact awarded

Unread post by PerRock »

Since I didn't see a topic about this.

Indiana has awarded the operation of the Hoosier State Amtrak route to Corridor Capital. They're the people who own about 50 ex-ATSF Hi-Levels which they've been trying to get someone to pay for their rebuilds.

Does anyone know where CC keeps their Hi-Level fleet, their only address I could find puts them in an office building in downtown Chicago?

Hoosier State will use single-level cars under Corridor Capital management. None of the bilevels will be ready by takeover.

There are a lot of questioned still to be (publically) answered about CC running the HS. INDOT & CC just released this wishlist, which if anything asks more questions then it answers. It'll be interesting to see if CC can pull off everything listed there. We still don't know where they're getting the train cars & engines from.

For clarification, no contract has been signed with CC. The state simply identified CC as its preferred vendor to do so with. When the discussions went on longer than anticipated, the existing Amtrak contract was lengthened into early 2015.

It looks like talks broke down. INDOT has stated that contract negotiations have ended with Corridor Capitol and that they are currently looking to extend their contract with Amtrak (at least temporarily).
