Indiana Eastern

Anyone have any idea on the scheduled days for running on this line? Also, does the railroad still operate the 2 ex. Algers SD-9s?

The answers are "no" and "no".

More specifically, I think they're a weekday only (generally) operation but I don't have any current knowledge of what they do and when. As to the SD9's, they're gone and one's been repainted:

Ah, thanks for the reply though. At least the 9s are getting some good use.

MDH, great pics! I went to Miami U when the trackage was still CSX. Imagine my disappointment when I found it was later bought by a shortline and supplied with SD9's! I stopped by once a few winters ago while on a business trip in the area and viewed those big caddies briefly, but there was no photo angle and nothing moving.

As far as railfan opportunities, it was a real shame the timing wasn't a few years different. That was stunning country to drive around in and I remember bombing over the crossings of C&O of Indiana all the way from Richmond to Fernald. We used to visit Brookville lake often and you had to cross the C&O of Indiana to get there. You also crossed it if you knew the backroads into Cinci. By that time it was just a secondary with no actual connections in Richmond or Cinci.

MDH, these AWW SD9 locos are still operating (2017) for :D Indiana Eastern®!!!! :D I am on my way to Cincinnati today! I hope to catch them─but the main purpose of this trip (with "Railfan Gary") is to catch the
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® "Circus Train!!!!"
