Wellsboro

Unread post by ChessieForever »

Thinking of heading over to Wellsboro next month and spending all day at the diamonds. As in roughly 6am thru 9pm. What's the train counts like on CSX and CN these days??? I know they run a lot of trains during the night, but was hoping for some decent day time action.

If you truly get there at 6 AM or earlier, you can catch quite a bit of action on the CSX durring the day. Sunday and Monday are very slow.

We got to Wellsboro yesterday May 1, 2011 around 11:00am local time. Saw 11 trains in about 2.5 hours. We saw the first 4 within 11 minutes of arriving. I've always found mid afternoon to be the real slow times at Wellsboro and at Porter. Before 1pm and after 5pm are usually the best.

How long did you stay at Wellsboro on Sunday? I went by about 14:00 or there abouts, had Q11330 with a pair of BNSF units. I seen three cars and a few guys standing around.

We left around 3:30 local time. I was driving the blue Ford Explorer. We were parked in the sw quantrant of the diamonds near the storage container CSX has there for their "stuff".
