South Shore weekend closures

Friend of mine was supposed to take South Shore from Michigan City into Chicago this morning, said the train was canceled... browsed over to nictd.com, and sure enough, trains are being cut off at Gary IN and no runs taking place between Gary and South Bend this entire weekend, along with a few more weekends this fall. and account of that closure, Amtrak is adding the Michigan City stop for the trains that don't normally stop there when the South Shore is shut down on those weekends; Zack, if he wants to get into the Windy City, tell him to look up reservations on Amtrak.
